I do not have any birth data for Jane, but I found William's, his parents marriage and his brothers and sisters. I could not find children for Jane and William.

Thanks for getting back to me. Is Jane Trotman part of your family? Do you know who her parents were or when she died? Have you any suggestions for me to try and find out where Samuel Woodman came from? He is the farthest back I have been able to go with my Woodman family and I would love to find out more information about him. The Woodmans married into the Western family of Barabados and I am at a brick wall with them to. Margaret Western married Abraham Fry (an English soldier) and they were my great great grandparents and I would love to get more information on them. I cannot find out where the Westerns came from or what happened to any of the family after about 1860s.

Jane Ann Trotman is not my relation. My Ann Trotman has no data except she married William Afflick McClean - 01 March 1812. That's all I know about her, or any relation of hers. I was hoping someone would have information on her for me.

I could not find an Abraham Fry in Barbados but the name came up in England about 108 times in various forms and dates. I found the name Margaret Western about two times in Barbados and 34 times in England.

Sorry, there's not much else I can find for you. If you have exact dates for them, I might find something else.

I can give you some dates for Margaret Western and her family and it would be wonderful if you could find something on her.

She was born in Bridgetown, Barbados in 1830, the daughter of William Benjamin and Sarah Francis (nee Woodman) Western. Her parents were born in Barabados in 1807 and 1809 respectively. Margaret's father owned a prosperous saddle business in Bridgetown until his partner took off with all the money.

Margaret married Abraham Fry, an artillery soldier who was born in Milverton, Somerset, in 1850. When his time in the army was up they moved with their children to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Margaret apparently met Abraham when she was teaching at a school that the then governor's wife ran. Abraham had to go up to the house to collect his wages as he was a valet of sorts to the governor and that is how they met.

Her mother Sarah Francis Woodman's family were apparently sugar planters and there was a relative named John Owen(s) who apparently was wealthy and had a mansion and 100 slaves but I cannot find any evidence ot the Woodman or Owen(s) family in planatation websites.

Don't know if you will be able to make anything of this or not.

I tried to match names up using the happy faces so you can find a child who married later and had their own kids, if any.

I'm looking for my ancestor, Hugh Howell -- there may be a connection with your ancestor. There is a Hugh Howell listed as a soldier in the company of Lt Col Andrew Afflick in Col Thornhill's Regiment of Foot on 6 January 1679/1680. On 10 Jul 1698, there's a record of a marriage of Hugh Howell married Margaret Middleton in Saint James church.

Does any of your information on Andrew Afflick go back this far? Do you have any more info about that group of British soldiers?

I'm sorry, I could only find Hugh Howell m. Margaret Middleton 10 July 1698, St. James Parish and Hugh Howell, Esq. m. Elizabeth Alexander, widow from St. Thomas Parish in 1714. They married in St. James Parish.

Elizabeth was married to Andrew Alexander 06 March 1699. Her maiden name was Brown. I do not know if Hugh Howell, Esq. is the same as Hugh Howell who married Margaret Middleton and was later to marry Elizabeth Alexander in 1614, or they are two different people with the same name in the same Parish.

I cannot find any more information, no brothers and sisters, no parents or children.
