Having difficulty finding information on my grandfather John Howell. His death certificate indicates he was born 1883 in Barbados and died March 6, 1955 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. I would like to know where exactly in Barbados he was from, who are his sibblings, and whether this is the correct spelling of his mother's last name. I found a lot of information on his brother Linton (aka Lenoard, Len) who also went to Glace Bay to work in the coal mines. Born about 1896, he arrived in St. John, New Brunswick in 1916 from Bermuda on the ship Chignecto. On June 30, 1934, he married Mary Margaret Jackson who passed away February 23, 1941 due to complications of child birth.
John's death cert, and Lin's marriage cert, indicate both brothers were born to Joseph Howell and Julia Justina Brodshaw (I feel her last name could possible be Bradshaw). According to father, John had spoken of sisters he had in Barbados.
Any information regarding John Howell, his parents, and sibblings would be greatly appreciate. Thank you in advance.
